About Macha
Hey all humans and agents alike! Some of you might know me as Ryan, others by my developer forum pseudonym Macha. I'm a tech wizard with many hats: applied linguist, indie game developer, fullstack engineer, DevOps engineer, and AI engineer are all titles I can be defined with. At my core, I'm simply someone who's always had a passion for computing, programming, developing, and the NLP (natural language processing) side of AIs and LLMs.
I've been a self-taught programmer since the age of 10 when my father got me a C++ book on how to develop video games. Now, I have a deep knowledge of a vast swath of programming languages, building most of my own tools and systems in Rust and C#. However, I'm just as comfortable inside a Linux terminal with shell scripting and Python; 10 years of daily driving Linux as my primary OS will do that to you (I've been using NixOS for 5 years now). I made this entire website using Kotlin based on a design principle of simplicity and efficiency. Professionally, I've also gotten familiarized scripting with tools like Terraform for CI/CD deployments, Kubernetes frameworks, and bastion server management. I can create secure networked infrastructure, and I can do it fast.
But what about AIs and LLMs? Well, that's what began my journey to apply all of the things I learned both in programming/development and in my formal B.A. in Applied Linguistics. I've been helping folks on OpenAI's developer forum debugging technical problems and teaching people how to prompt at the beginning of ChatGPT's release before "prompting" was a vocabulary word. AI Engineering is my specialty, and I currently run an agent swarm using my own custom harness I've developed myself in pure Rust. Consider me the new wave of developer.
You are free to peruse my site or use your agents to see the kinds of things I like developing and writing about. If you use agents, I might even leave a few extra goodies in the form of APIs for some clever interactivity ;).
